CLCS awards Khyentse Medal

The college awarded the Khyentse Medal for the 2018-2019 academic session on 7 June, 2019 which had everyone’s attention fixated on it during the Graduation and Award Ceremony.

Khyentse Medal is the highest of its kind in the college, awarded to the most deserving student based on their contribution, participation and leadership at the college, community, dzongkhag, national and international levels.

The Khyentse Medal was awarded to Mr. Tashi Norbu of BLL A third year this year.

Initially, there were 11 nominees in total. Based on certain criteria top five nominees – Mr. Sonam Phuntsho BLL E third year, Mr. Tashi Tobgay BHS B third year, Ms. Yeshey Lhamo BLL B third year, Mr. Karma Kezang BHS D, and Mr. Tashi Norbu BLL A – were selected for the final round of selection through processes of the President’s and Deans’ Votes and sample voting among the general students.

The Khyentse Award was instituted in the college for the first time in 2018 with a proposal from Mr. Jigme Dorji, a lecturer of the college.
