CLCS observes Social Forestry Day

Today June 2nd 2019, College of Language and Culture Studies observed Social Forestry Day where the president of the College and students planted about 500 saplings in the campus.

June 2nd is the coronation day of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuk. Hence, CLCS also joined the nation in celebrating His Majesty’s enthronement by planting trees.

His Majesty foresaw the importance of conservation of nature even though the country wasn’t facing environmental crises then, since the survival of nature is our survival: the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, everything is dependent on nature.

As gratitude towards His Majesty’s visionary insight, we celebrate June 2nd as the environmental day coinciding with His Majesty’s enthronement.
