Programme Overview

The BA in Language and Heritage Studies (LHS) is a dynamic four-year interdisciplinary programme designed to preserve and advance Bhutan’s linguistic and cultural heritage while preparing graduates for national and global opportunities. Combining advanced Dzongkha and English studies with Bhutanese culture, history, Buddhist philosophy, and contemporary global perspectives, the programme equips students to bridge tradition, innovation, and global engagement.

Aligned with Bhutan’s constitutional mandate, the 13th Five-Year Plan, and initiatives such as Gelephu Mindfulness City, students engage in fieldwork, digital documentation, and experiential learning to develop analytical, communicative, ethical, and digital competencies.
