Dilkhyen Welfare Committee

  1. Rationale

Irrespective of race, ethnic, religion, sex and the differences human being has, everybody’s want is to live a happy life, both physical as well as mental. Then, unquestionably, there is no doubt that as a human being our role is to help others and live. This is also a technique that Buddha and other Bodhisattvas employed during the time immemorial to accumulate merits and reach the ultimate destiny of pure happiness, otherwise, enlightenment. Keeping in mind, the noble ethics of great people and remembering the contents of the study, we study here at the Institute of Language and Culture Studies (clcs) to be good human being. Finally, the concept of forming a committee was conceptualized by our chaiman, Mr. Jamyang Sonam, Assistant Lecturer of the college. The group came up with the thought to form a committee that will help the society, and our committee came into being for that purpose. After formation of the welfare committee, we named our committee as Dilkhyen Welfare Committee, remembering the knowledge bestowed and bless blessed by our (clcs) great founder (Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche) of Semtokha School in 1961.Otherwise the present college would not been existed or had it existed under the ordinary person, there would not be much popularity as we see today and would not have benefited the society. Dilkhyen Welfare Committee (DWC) that is fully committed to work for others is a committee that brightens the present and next life of the members with purely dedicated service for those who live with poignancy. A committee, purely based on non-profit and reward less from our beneficiaries, which translate the values we have in our curriculum to the practical life of helping others and making others happy.

The committee has its plan and policies since 2013, but could not come in to effect due to inevitable consequences and support. From this year 2015, coinciding with the Sixtieth Birth Anniversary of our Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, we are happy to come into effect to pay our tribute to King Jigme Singye Wangchuck for the selfless service rendered to the people.
